Best Places for Creative Singles

Monday, July 20th, 2009

This article just came in over the wires at Singlelicious HQ, which got us thinking. Actually we felt slightly ill while reading this quote:

“Seeking a sugar daddy (or sugar-mama)? Follow the money to these towns and cities, where affluent young professionals are abundant.”

We are grateful that CNN has outed where all of the rich singles live, and it has prompted a few internal requests to expand headquarters to sunny California. But since CNN has let the fat cat out of the bag, Singlelicious has decided to come up with our own list of where to find the most creative singles. Those crazy, Richard Florida, creative class singles leading with their heart not their head, and the ones most likely to take you to a secret party at a dumpster pool or ask you “can we ride our bikes” on your first date. They might be rich. Rich in passion, rich in love, rich in friends or rich in funds, we don’t know. We do know that true love begets true love when your heart leads the way in life. Here’s where to find them:

1. Portland, Oregon:

We live here! Good news for us since we are ranked #1 on the Singlelicious list of where to find creative singles. Now where to find those elusive creative singles. Well, let’s just say that if you throw a stone you might just hit one, but creative singles are not much into stone throwing. So if you hit one and they throw back, well that one is a keeper.  A feisty, creative single is not one to pass up. If you are having trouble finding a feisty creative single, attend one of our Singlelicious events. We like the love vibe, and we want to share it.

2. Brooklyn, NY:

We don’t live here, but we wish we did! Brooklyn and Portland share a well traveled portal, and  if you are at all able to collapse your time/space continuum you actually may be in maybe in the existential reality known as Brooklyn/Portland. The major difference, Brooklyn creative singles are often on a mission. If your creative single mission happens to collide with another’s creative single mission you are in luck. Sparks fly, love happens, and you end up married and living in Portland, Oregon.

3. Burlington, Vermont:

The best part of Burlington, Vermont. Cold winters. Cold winters inspire creative singles to cuddle as sharing body heat sure cuts down on ghastly heating bills. So if you are creative and single in Burlington, we suggest dropping the word “cozy” into your vocabulary often, especially around Halloween. Sentences like, “I tried to make it to my studio early this a.m., but my bed was too cozy,” work wonders for creative singles.

4. Tucson, AZ:

The best part of Tucson, Arizona. Sunshine. Sunshine often makes it easier to find creative singles as they are more likely to hang out outside, and they are happy! Here you will find creative, happy, scantily clan singles outside! Go outside! Go outside, shiny, happy, single people!

5. Your Home Town Here:

The most amazing part about rich singles, creative singles or singles in general is that you are most likely surrounded by them. They live in your home town and are right in front of your face. The world is truly amazing in that way that often what you are searching for has little to do with geographics and a lot to do with opening your heart. We work on this every day at Singlelicious HQ. Singlelicious, it’s a vibe and a tribe y’all.
